JENNIFER NEWMAN-PRESTON

Studio Director and Principal Instructor, Pilates Int Melbourne
BA Dance; Advanced Diploma of the Pilates Method

Jennifer first explored Pilates whilst performing during 1994 and since then has had extensive training and experience. In 1998 she began teaching the Pilates Method, and in 2000 she took on a senior instructor role for Pilates International Sydney. Jennifer went on to complete her formal International Certification through the Body Arts & Science Professional Program in 2002 before upgrading to the formal qualification of Diploma of Professional Pilates Practice in 2005. Jennifer holds Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and is a leading Faculty member for PilatesITC.

Having moved to Melbourne in 2008 she was a Principal Instructor for Daily Pilates, while continuing to be a Teacher Trainer & Educator for PilatesITC, and concurrently undertaking her Masters in Choreography. In 2010 Pilates International accredited the highest ever Pilates qualification at Advanced Diploma, which Jennifer successfully completed in the faculty Upgrade Program. Jennifer is a Principal Trainer member of the Pilates Alliance Australasia.

Jennifer is now Principal Trainer for Pilates International Melbourne, as well as continuing to deliver education and mentor upcoming Pilates teachers for PilatesITC

Background: Jennifer graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts in 1985 with a BA in Dance. A professional dancer with a career spanning over 20 years, Jennifer has performed & toured extensively, nationally and internationally.

Since 1985 in conjunction with her performing, Jennifer has also taught contemporary dance, contact improvisation, classical, composition, release & alignment classes and functional anatomy for companies, independent dance projects and in Primary and Tertiary institutions such as WAAPA, VCA, NIDA open classes, Ausdance, UTS, Sydney Dance Company Open classes, NORPA, Laban Centre, School of Theatre Film & Dance University of NSW and NAISDA Dance College.

Jennifer has practiced Yoga since 1984. Gaining her Anatomy & Physiology Certificate and completing her Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Synergy, 2000 when she began teaching for Yoga Synergy, Sydney.

KASIA LYNCH
Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91121NSW)

Kasia's passion for Pilates began in 2006 when she began working in administration and management at a Melbourne Pilates studio where she took Pilates classes. She was delighted to discover the benefits of Pilates first hand and was immediately hooked.

Kasia completed her teacher training with Pilates International Training Centre in November 2009 to obtain a Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction (91121NSW). in March 2010 she upgraded her qualification to a Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW). Kasia is also a certified Level 2 Power Plate Trainer, having studied with Amanda Boyle, Power Plate UK and Europe Master Trainer.

Kasia's background and interest in the body’s biomechanics began when studying classical ballet and jazz dance from 1980 - 1995 with the Royal Academy of Dance. During 1994 – 1996 Kasia competed semi-professionally in women's rowing in Victoria. Kasia also holds a BA Hons Fine Art Sculpture from RMIT and is currently studying a Masters of Research in Fine Art RMIT.

Kasia enjoys facilitating the opportunity for her clients to each connect more deeply to their bodies through focused movement and breath. She aims to inspire clients to carry what they learn in the studio through to their day to day activities so that they may enjoy the benefits of the Pilates Method ongoingly.

KYLIE WEBSTER
Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW)

Kylie's journey with Pilates began in 2004 when she was introduced to the method as part of her rehabilitation following a knee reconstruction. She fell in love with Pilates and once fully rehabilitated, continued practicing Pilates twice a week. From there she has never looked back, appreciating and enjoying the strength and stability Pilates brings to her body and into her everyday life.

After six years of practicing the method, Kylie's passion for Pilates led her to become an instructor. She completed her Certificate IV in Pilates Matwork Instruction (91492NSW) in December 2010, immediately following which she went on to complete her comprehensive qualification the Diploma of Professional Pilates Instruction (91491NSW) in 2011.

Kylie played and competed in many sports growing up (from figure skating to basketball) though netball became her focus, allowing her to reach the top level of competition in Victoria. These days, Kylie keeps fit by complementing her Pilates' workouts with enjoying swimming, a hit of tennis and spin classes.

After completing an Advanced Diploma in Marketing (Sports and Entertainment Management) in 2002, Kylie has worked in the sports industry ever since. She has held roles with the NSW Institute of Sport, the 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships and the Victoria Racing Club, all which have led her to her current role as Marketing Manager of Tennis Victoria.

Kylie is enjoying working with clients and guiding them on their own Pilates journey to a stronger, more stable and balanced body!
